Today I introduced Kurt Vonnegut, Jr., the author of the short story “Harrison Bergeron,” through a PowerPoint. After the brief author introduction we read the short story as a class. After reading I split everyone up into groups and had the groups answer the comprehension check questions, critical thinking questions two and five, and the following questions I added:

  • Who were the main characters in the story?
  • What was the theme (message/lesson) of the story? Reminder: Theme is more than one word.

If you were absent today you are still accountable for these questions and for having read the story and for doing those questions independently.

Reminder: If you still have not shared the Of Mice and Men essay test with me on Google Docs you need to do so by Friday or it will begin to be counted late. Come in and see me before/after school or during lunch if you need help with Google Docs.
