A brief summary of what happened daily in Mr. Phillips's classes

Today we continued reading “The Possibility of Evil” while answering the make inferences questions that are sprinkled throughout the story.

Once your groups finished the story I had you all go on and answer the questions following the story. Before doing that I commented on some issues I noticed from the “Harrison Bergeron” questions:

  • On the final two questions they are looking for you to dig beyond the surface level. Those answers should be 1-2 paragraphs. If you don’t have at least one paragraph in your answer it’s not long enough.
  • If the question asks for evidence from the text you need to talk about something from the story to support your answer, it’s not just asking you to answer the question as simply as possible.
  • Make sure to answer ALL parts of the question. Many people only read the first part of a three or four part question, which left their answers very incomplete.

Reminder: Final in class library day tomorrow.
